1984

- The first diagnosed case of HIV in the Philippines was recorded in 1984

- Philippines had the lowest prevalence of HIV (0.1%), yet has one of the fastest spreading cases worldwide

1990

- The HIV and AIDS prevention and control act was passed

- 62% of those infected are females

- 216 cases were diagnosed since 1984

2001

- Age group with most cases decreased (starting from 35-49 year olds to 15-34 year olds)

- Male-female sex was the predominant mode of transmission

- Cases were comprised of 25,349 males (96% of those diagnosed with HIV)

- Male to male intercourse became the leading mode of transmission

2010

2016

- DOH issued a reporting mechanism for deaths caused by HIV (1,675 Casualties)

- The number of deaths caused by HIV increased to 25 casualties a day

present

- The Philippine AIDS and HIV act of 2018 was passed 

- A total of 77,000 estimated cases has been reported
